A music company with three jobs: the home of its record labels, a production company for artists, and the brand over a self-administered publishing catalog.
Built for picture
Pinions Music makes music for film, TV, trailers, advertising and games. Rather than one big catalog, it's split into labels with clear sounds: EmberDawn Audio for electronic, Savage Gears for trailer and cinematic, and Benton Road Music for singer-songwriter work.
The music is pitched and licensed through DropCue, and recordings also go out to streaming services.
Jon Skaggs
Pinions Music is run by Jon Skaggs, who has spent more than 30 years making a living in music: touring and studio drummer, tour manager, producer, TV and film composer, and songwriter. He writes as Jon Erin Skaggs.
He produces, mixes and masters the catalog himself, and takes on production for artists and custom music for picture.
